All AMJ windows and doors are designed to meet high-performance standards. To ensure your AMJ products remain in perfect condition and function accordingly, please follow these simple care and adjustment tips.

Ensure impurities are removed from the sliding door track to prevent damage and resulting in operational defects.
If your door is scraping on its track, do not operate. The operation of doors in this instance will cause damage and lead to roller failure.
Our sliding windows are designed to allow water to drain from holes beneath the track. Ensure the drainage holes are clear so that the window can function accordingly.
Sash slides on our windows and doors are height adjustable. To adjust the height on one or both of the slides, remove them and rotate higher or lower.
To keep your windows and doors looking and functioning at their best, follow these simple maintenance tips. Maintenance is essential to ensure the original aesthetic and performance of your windows and doors.
Aluminum requires only minimal maintenance, but the finish, like that of your car, may deteriorate if dirt which collects on the surface remains for a period of time. Cleaning is essential if the fine finish of the powder-coated aluminum is to be preserved and the original performance characteristics maintained.
A good general rule is that aluminum should be washed to remove dirt deposits as often as it is necessary to wash the glass of your windows; however different environments require different levels of frequency.
In a rural atmosphere, where grime deposition and pollution are at a minimum, cleaning every six months may be sufficient to remove dirt deposits and restore the appearance.
In Industrial and marine environments, monthly cleaning is advisable. However, the maximum period between cleaning should never exceed three months.
Under the worst conditions involving heavy grime deposition and atmospheric pollution more frequent cleaning is advisable if the deterioration of the powder-coat finish is to be prevented. To clean aluminum, use the mildest treatment you can which produces satisfactory results. Start with warm water and pH-neutral soap or mild detergent; never use harsh liquid chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or steel wool. Surfaces should be thoroughly rinsed after cleaning to remove all residues.
Timber is a natural product and as such, climatic conditions can result in dimensional changes and color variations to components. Reactions to environmental changes are outside of our control and are not covered by the AMJ Warranty.
To clean your timber windows and doors use a clean soft cloth with warm water and a mild detergent, ensuring to thoroughly rinse off any residue. Never use harsh liquid chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or steel wool. Ensure that the bottom tracks are kept clean either by a wipe with a cloth or vacuum and occasionally use dry silica-based lubricant if required.
To ensure timber windows and doors maintain their smooth functionality, all door and window hardware should be cleaned regularly to ensure that the hardware continues to move smoothly. It is also important to operate opening window sashes regularly.
Glass
To clean the glass in your windows and doors, simply wipe over the surface with some warm water on a clean damp cloth and polish the surface dry with a lint-free cloth. Ensure that all cleaning cloths and cleaning tools are free from any abrasive substances, dust, etc. Never remove abrasive materials, such as mortar, from the glass with a scraper. Instead, flood both sides of the glass with water and dab with a clean sponge. Do not scrub with the sponge, or scratching will occur.
Do not use the same sponge, rag, or water to clean tracks, thresholds, or sash slides. The fine, hard particles of dust/mortar, etc. may remain and scratch the glass.
Avoid causing extreme temperature changes as this may lead to thermal fracture of the glass (eg/ do not direct hot or cold water onto the glass). This is of particular importance on doors with toughened safety glass.
PLEASE NOTE
When washing your windows and doors, never direct powerful streams of water directly at the product. Always use the sprinkle setting on the nozzle of your hose, to gently clean your windows and doors, without the risk of water leaking into your home.
